The capture of a number of terrorists believed to be the ringleaders of those operating around Alagarno remote villages of Damboa Council Area of Borno state, has sparked off a major fight in the outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State last night.

Bulabulin is a remote village between Alagarmo and Sambisa Forest where the terrorists have been attempting to establish a stronghold in their campaign.

During the deadly encounter, 40 suspected terrorists died while 4 soldiers lost their lives and 9 were wounded.

We’ll rescue abducted girls -Security Council

ABUJA—TWENTY one days after 230 female students of a secondary school in Chibok, Borno State were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists, with only 43 of them escaping so far from the terrorists’ den, an expanded National Security Council, yesterday, rose from an emergency meeting declaring that everything must be done to rescue the girls.

President Goodluck Jonathan summoned a security meeting comprising the service chiefs and all the state governors in response to the spate of security challenges in the country.

Terry G, has again been involved in a messy fight at a hangout in his Iju neighbourhood.
The fight, which later resulted in a free-for-all, took place at the Treasures Exclusive Garden, off Bola Tinubu Road, Iju, Lagos at about 6p.m. Wednesday.
A source told P.M.NEWS that Terry G and his boys stormed the hotel to relax but things later turned awry between some staff of the hangout and the music star with his crew.
According to the source, when Terry G arrived the club, one of his boys forcefully jumped into the swimming pool without paying.

APC tells Jonathan to cancel rallies, parties until abducted girls are rescued, Security meeting condemns Nyako & other important news you should know today

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to cancel the political rally being planned for him by the Adamawa PDP for Tuesday, saying the President cannot and should not be celebrating when over 200 school girls are missing.

”We hope and pray that our daughters are released safely even before Tuesday, April 29th when the rally is to be held, but until then, it is insensitive and indecent for anyone, least of all the President who is the father of the nation, to engage in any celebratory outing under any guise,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

10 rescued as 2-storey building collapses in Lagos

LAGOS — No fewer than 10 persons escaped death after a two-storey building under construction at 11, Sand Beach Lane, off Alonge Street, Oworonsoki, Kosofe Local Government Area, collapsed in the early hours of yesterday.

Vanguard report that the workers were busy with the construction when the building caved in on them at about 11:00 am, leaving 10 workers trapped under the debris.
Among the 10 trapped were four children, who are assistants to the construction workers. Three of the teenagers were identified as Monday Ahungbe, 12; Jimoh Adebi, 13 and Moses Atoketi,15.

Nearly one week after Jude Okoye, elder brother to singing duo Paul and Peter Okoye (P-Square) posted on twitter that he was ‘done’, the stand-off in the Okoye family is far from abating with insiders telling Vanguard that Peter had refused to be appeased despite interventions from close friends.

Peter reportedly gave condition for peace, saying his wife, Lola, must be accepted and respected by the family or risk total isolation from him.
Several sources contacted by Vanguard confirmed that this was his only condition for peace.

Fulani herdsmen confess to membership of Boko Haram

It has emerged that groups of alleged herdsmen or gangs operating in the middle belt states of Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba and even those that recently killed scores of people in Zamfara state, are Boko Haram sect members.

This development came to light following the confessions of some arrested Fulani herdsmen that took part in the killings and burning of houses in Wukari, Taraba state, they  disclosed to  security forces that they took  part in many Boko Haram attacks.

  A desperate Moroccan father, Ayham Kanaan, has been arrested by Spanish custom officers after he was allegedly found hiding his 8-year-old daughter, Haniya Kanaan, in a suitcase.

                According to police reports, Ayham, 38, was caught trying to smuggle his daughter into Spain so that she can stay in the country.

Aftermath of Nyanya blast: Military checkpoint causes traffic gridlock

In the wake of the Nyanya bomb blast which occurred on Monday April 14th, which killed over 80 people, military checkpoints have been mounted at various strategic road junctions to check human and vehicular activities in the FCT.

Motorists/workers say these checkpoints have become a big problem for them as they lose many useful hours in traffic with some of them getting late to work and receiving queries.

According to a report on Channels TV, residents in Abuja say their fear is in the manner in which the military men carry out their search operations. They say the traffic opens them to a possible attack from Boko Haram men who can take advantage of the gridlock and strike again. They pleaded with the military to seek more effective ways to carry out their search...
