Liberian man infected with Ebola Virus in Lagos has reportedly died

Yesterday the Lagos State Ministry of Health said a Liberian man is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos (read here). The man, Patrick Sawyer, (pictured above) has reportedly died.

According to reports, Patrick died yesterday night at the First Consultant Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos where he'd been receiving treatment. His condition was said to have worsened.

Sawyer, who was an official of the Liberian Ministry of Finance, arrived in Nigeria on Sunday July 20th for a conference.

30 year old man arrested for raping 2 year old girl in Ebonyi state

A 30-year old man, Mr. Inya-Okoro from Afikpo North LGA of Ebonyi State has been arrested by police for defiling a 2-year-old girl named Favour, Sunnewsonline reports 

The suspect was alleged to have com­mitted the shameful act when the victim returned from school and was sleeping at the corridor of the house when the suspect, who also lives in the same compound allegedly pounced on her and committed the crime.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Chris Anyanwu an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who confirmed the incident said the suspect was arrested on July 14, 2014 at the scene of the crime when the members of the family alerted the police. Continue...

Meet Nigeria's youngest pilot - he's only 19!

According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Daniel Adeyileka (pictured above) is the youngest pilot in Nigeria.

He was born in 1995 in Newcastle, England and had his primary and secondary education in Scotland then came back to Nigeria to do his A-levels. At 17, he proceeded to Delta Flight school in Texas, USA, where he obtained his Private Pilot License (PPL) and his International General Certificate of Secondary Education. He is currently a First Officer.

Police arrest 3 for car-snatching in Lagos

3 members of a notorious car snatching gang that specializes in snatching exotic cars from residents of the Victoria island, Lekki and Ajah axis of Lagos state have been arrested by men of the Lagos state Anti-Robbery Squad attached to the Bar Beach Police station in Lagos. . 

According to Vanguard, the robbers were arrested separately on Saturday July 19th and Monday July 21 as they rode in taxi cabs they had earlier snatched from their owners at gunpoint on their way to steal exotic cars.

After 100 Days: Our Girls Are Still With Boko Haram's Shekau

April 14 came with both shock and disbelief. Boko Haram terrorists had bombed Nyanya in Abuja early in the day, killing more than 100 innocent souls. When the news of missing girls came about 15 hours later, not many, including those in the Presidency, believed it was true. But, like thieves in the night that they are, the terrorists did steal 276 girls from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on 4-14.

The school authorities had said the missing girls were 120. The number kept climbing with more discoveries until it hit 276. About 57 of the captives have been able to escape from the evil men that have been spreading blood and tears across the country.

That over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped 100 days ago are still held captive in an evil forest named Sambisa must remain one of the greatest tragedies that have happened on the Nigerian soil.

All that the military authorities and even President Jonathan have told the nation is that they know where the girls are being held and are being careful to not hurt them through rescue operations. All the technologies that have been invented, all the advanced nations that have offered to help and all the funds voted for security have not been able to snatch the captives from the claws of the terrorists...

blast in Kaduna aimed at Gen. Buhari + pics from today's blast

The second bomb blast that rocked the Kawo area of Kaduna state this afternoon was aimed at former Head of State and Chieftain of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari.

According to a report by BBC Africa, about 90 minutes after the first bomb went off along Alkali Rd, a second explosion ripped through the crowded Kawo area, targeting the motorcade of Gen Buhari.

Gunmen rammed a vehicle into his convoy, firing shots at it. The report says two of Gen. Buhari's bodyguards were slightly wounded in the attack, he however escaped unhurt. (Above is a allegedly a pic Gen. Buhari's car after the attack today). Continue...

A 26 year old sexually frustrated man created a spreadsheet detailing reasons why his wife would not have sex with him. For a whole month, the man jotted down every reason the woman gave to turn him down when he asked for sex...from 'I'm too tired', to 'I'm watching the show' to 'I have to be up early' and sent it to her via email during a business trip to get her attention. She said when she tried to reach him after receiving the email, he refused to pick her calls and she angrily posted it on Reddit.

The lady said they'd been together for five years but only married for two years without any kids.

"Yesterday morning, while in a taxi on the way to the airport, husband sends a message to my work email which is connected to my phone. He's never done this, we always communicate in person or by text. I open it up, and it's a sarcastic diatribe basically saying he won't miss me for the 10 days I'm gone." She said "Attached is a spreadsheet of all the times he has tried to initiate sex since June 1, with a column for my "excuses", using verbatim quotes of why I didn't feel like having sex at that very moment.'

The spreadsheet, which has since been deleted, has been shared by thousands of people online.
