Jonathan, Never Again; APC Declares at Abuja Salvation Rally

The politicians in the leading opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated their commitment to wrestle power from the Peoples Demoocratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general election through people-oriented policies, which they believe will be capable of bringing much-desired change to millions of Nigerians.

A  5-month pregnant wife poured hot water on husband while he was sleeping She then locked him inside while he was screaming “fire, fire”, then she took off. Husband is currently in the hospital being treated for a second degree burns. Married for a year and a half with another 16 month old baby. Early in the year, she slapped him which lead to him beating her. They reconciled. Husband also complains that they switch house-help every month because she beats the househelp where there is blood on the wall.

Why Cossy has been losing money in acting

It seems Cossy now makes more money from sampling her big oranges to willing men, hence she's hardly seen in Nollywood movies. I can't even remember seeing her in any movie in the last 2 years.

But in a recent interview with Encomium, Cossy said she don't like working hard to make money and that she has been very choosy with the kind of movies scripts she accept from the new Nollywood guys.

What has been happening to your acting career?

I just got back from location. I featured in a movie entitled, Beach 24. It is produced by Ahumadu. My character is more like a mermaid in the movie.

When reminded that she doesn't get movie roles again, she said, "that is not true. Of course, I get offers but I am very choosy. I don’t just accept roles like that."

Pandemonium at Lagos airport as customs, agents clash

   

Business activities were brought to a halt at the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday following a clash between officials of the Nigeria Customs Service and clearing agents over alleged manhandling of a senior customs officer.

Two people were injured in the fracas as people scampered for safety after sporadic gunshots were reportedly heard at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company.

A visit by our correspondent showed that riot police were stationed in the area with an Amoured Personnel Carrier. About eight custom patrol pickups were also drafted to the scene of the incident.

The world's tallest and shortest man in the Guinness Book of World Records, met each other for the first time on Thursday November 13 at an event in London.

The tallest man, 31 year-old Sultan Kosen from Turkey, a part-time farmer, is 8 feet 3 inches tall and can reach a basketball hoop without jumping. He became the world's tallest living man in 2009. He also holds the record for largest hands on a living person. His hands measure 11.2 inches from the wrist to the tip of his middle finger.

The shortest man, 74 year-old Chandra Bahadur Dangi, from Nepal, is just 21½ inches tall and is the shortest adult human ever verified by Guinness World Records. He works as a weaver who also helps look after buffaloes & cows in his remote mountain village of Reemkholi. He weighs just 32 pounds.

Awash in the great tide of politics, we must not forget why politics can be a noble endeavor. It leads to governance. When done correctly, governance can reform a nation and improve the lot of the people. In the hands of the ignorant and the mean, governance cast abundant misfortune upon a nation and upon the welfare of its citizens.

This commentary concerns governance and policy more than it does politics. I offer it to generate debate on an important economic issue. No matter who is in power, we must do whatever is in our capacity to do to steer the nation away from economic woe. The people have suffered too much hardship already. Neither side of the political divide should seek to purchase transient advantage at the high price of dousing the people in greater economic calamity. Thus, I suggest this progressive’s position on how best to shape economic policy during this period of falling oil prices. I state this hoping those in charge will take pertinent advice from any quarter. My prayer is that they are not so stubborn as to adhere to a strategy that will deepen the economic misery of our people even when better policy measures are proffered.

A woman, Claire Tickle has been told that she doesn’t have a cure for her growing legs. She discovered that her limbs were ballooning and doctors have been unable to help her get better.
She was diagnosed with lipoedema which is an incurable condition makes legs, buttocks and thighs become enlarged.
                   However, her hope lies on a new type of liposuction treatment being trialled, which she hopes will become available on the NHS soon.

Nna mein! Strange things dey happen o.. ! Mr. Augustine Obodeke, who is the father of a 17yrs old girl, has been arrested by the Police in Edo State for consistently sleeping with his teenage daughter, Favour, and getting her pregnant on three different occasions.
                          The bubble burst when he got her pregnant the third time and wanted her to undergo another abortion so he can continue to do it with her. The girl refused and cried to their neighbours who dragged the father to the police state where he is being detained for the dastardly act.

When asked why it took her so long before she cried out, Favoure said, "Since my mother died, I felt I had no choice any time my father instructed me to sleep with him. [But] when he impregnate me the third time and wanted me to go for abortion I had to run out of the house and scream."

Busted-- Fake Pastor Nabbed for Hiring a Woman To Pose As a Cripple For Miracle

                       
 Fake pastor who allegedly hired a woman to pose as a cripple and ‘healed’ her during a church service has   been arrested by the Odorkor Police.
                     The suspect, Jonas Abedi, 35, is being held together with the woman, Helena Donkor, 40, and three others. The others are Enoch Mortey, 29, who posed as a pastor; Divine Kwadwo Columbus, 36, a self-acclaimed prophet, and Christiana Quainoo, 36, who posed as a sister of the cripple who had brought her to the church for healing. 
Abedi was said to have performed the ‘miracle’ at a church he was visiting for a two-day programme.
The Odorkor District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mr Abraham Acquaye, told the Daily Graphic that the incident happened on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.

He said Abedi had been invited by the Founder of Power Explosion Chapel at Tantra Hills in Accra, Rev Ewurama Annan, after the two had established contact through Facebook, a social media platform.

According to a report on Tribune, Benue state Governor Gabriel Suswam and his deputy, Steven Lawani, were involved in a ghastly road accident yesterday Friday November 14th.

The accident occurred at Angbaaye, near Makurdi, after another vehicle lost control, somersaulted and hit 2 vehicles in the Governor's convoy. Fortunately no one died but 8 people were injured. The governor and his deputy who were in the same vehicle and were on their way to flag off a road project in Wannune, Tarka LGA and Gboko were uninjured.

The 8 people who were injured, mostly from the car that hit the governor's convoy were rushed to the hospital in Makurdi. The governor is reported to have helped in the rescue mission.

Comedian MC Long dies 8 days after ghastly car accident

Jos-based comedian and musician Longji Joseph popularly known as MC Longs has died, 8 days after he was involved in ghastly car accident. (his car pictured left after the accident).

The married father of two was driving around 8pm with a friend on November 6th from Barkin Ladi Local Govt Area of Plateau state when he was involved in a road traffic collision. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors detected he'd fractured a few limbs. He eventually fell into a coma and was put on life support. He died last night November 14th. His friend survived the accident.

The comedian said to be in his early 30s is survived by a young wife and two children. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Former President Obasanjo's son shot in Mubi by Boko Haram

A son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo was on Monday shot   during a battle between the militant Islamic sect, Boko Haram and troops near Michika in Adamawa State.

It was gathered that Lt.-Col Adeboye Obasanjo led a platoon of the army that took on the insurgents at Baza near Michika.

A highly reliable security source said that Adeboye was injured in the leg by the insurgents during the encounter. He is an army engineer at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State.

The source said that the former President’s son was being treated at a military facility which identity was not revealed for security reasons.

“He was shot by Boko Haram in the battle to reclaim Michika from the insurgents. But there is no cause for alarm as he is responding to treatment,” he added.

A top military source confirmed the shooting of Adeboye.

A family friend of Obasanjo, Mallam Mohammed Kebbi, told BBC Hausa Service that “Col. Adeboye, son of Obasanjo, was shot by the insurgents in Bazza on their (platoon) way to Michika.”

Adeboye married Daisy Nyada in February 2008 at the Hilltop mansion residence of his father in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Mother & triplets detained in hospital in Delta state for 7 weeks over medical bill

A new mother and her newborn triplets were detained in a private hospital in Asaba, Delta State for 7 weeks after failing to pay about N725k medical bill.

The mother, Mrs Echenim, said she was barred from leaving her room from when she gave birth in July till early September because of her family's inability to pay the bills. The triplets’ father, Godswill Echenim, said he took his wife to the clinic because of the prolonged strike by doctors in public hospital.

"For about 7 weeks, since the kids were delivered, we have been in this hospital. I had registered my wife for ante-natal at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, but because of the strike by doctors, I brought her here for the delivery." He said last week. Continue

Secretary to the Borno Govt say Boko Haram has taken over part of the state

The Secretary to the Borno state government, Amb. Ahmed Jidda says Boko Haram men have taken over a considerable part of the state. Speaking to newsmen yesterday September 7th in Borno state, the SSG said activities of the sect members have paralyzed most economy, social, political and government activities in the state.

"At this very moment, most parts of Borno state are being occupied by Boko Haram insurgents. Government presence and administration is minimal or non-existent across many parts of the state, with economic, commercial and social services totally subdued. Schools and clinics remain closed. Most settlements in the affected areas in the state have either been deserted or access to them practically impossible, thus majority of the political stakeholders cannot, in real fact, reach their constituencies. So, the threat of insecurity affects everybody irrespective of political differences." Continue...
