She was in need of some serious rest and recuperation after nearly dying while giving birth to daughter Dylan-Jorge Rose.
So Kerry Katona treated herself to well-deserved sunshine break to do exactly that and showing - rightly so - that shaping up wasn’t the top of her priorities, she proudly displayed her post-baby body.
The 33-year-old was spotted strolling around a pool showing off a healthy glow while wearing a rather small pink string bikini.
Kerry, who is engaged to the father of her fifth child George Kay, was seen pacing up and down engrossed in a telephone call – more than comfortable in her skin.
The Atomic Kitten singer, who had pulled her blonde hair off her face in a professional style, was seen setting up a towel on a sun bed – preparing for some well-earned sunbathing.
While prior to becoming pregnant, Kerry openly spoke about her desire to shape up for her forthcoming wedding – her priorities have now changed.
A source told Closer: ‘Kerry almost died giving birth so how her body looks is the least of her concerns – she just feels lucky to be alive. Her priority right now is her family, settling down with Dylan and getting back to full health.
‘She’s feeling confident and reckons she looks great for a mum of five. She’s proud of her body after all it’s been through.’
Kerry opened up about the traumatic birth on This Morning last week, as she cradled the now five-week-old in her arms
She emotionally retold her story: ‘They put her on my chest and something just didn't feel right... the baby's not breathing, so they took her off me.
A crash team came and took her off me and she completely died.’
The star revealed how her newborn was revived by emergency doctors while she suffered post birth complications.
'I started contracting on the Thursday evening and was really excited... my waters went, had fun with the gas and air... it was really bonding for us both - and then I decided to have an epidural.'
She told hosts Christine Bleakley and Holly Willoughby: 'It was like I passed out but I know I passed out. I could still hear everyone else talking and I really wish I hadn't had the epidural.'
'Shortly after my placenta got stuck and wouldn't come out - I'd gone into complete shock, asking "where's my baby?", and I kept saying to George, 'I'm so sorry, it's not supposed to be like this'.
The emotional star added: 'It was really horrible. He thought he'd lost us both.
'I was losing loads and loads of blood – the placenta burst and had to be manually removed.'
A spokesperson for Kerry has been contacted for comment.
