Most Controversial And Memorable Quotes By Top Nigerian Celebrities

Our celebrities have at different times made comments that are not so easy to forget. Some of the comments they made generated much controversies and heated arguments.

When some of them discover the impact of what they have said, they either deny such comments or they claim they were “misquoted”.Nevertheless, here are some memorable comments/quotes by Nigerian celebrities.

 SHAN GEORGE:

“Most married actresses in the industry sleep around like dogs and nobody is talking about it. These are people who have been lured to bed with whiff of money by top politicians and bizmen. These same people will be claiming to be happily married feign love to their husbands.”

 UTI NWACHUKWU

“Most celebrity women in the entertainment industry have had to sleep with one big man or the other to have the comfortable life they live. Its common knowledge”. “A lot of ladies in the entertainment industry who are not yet married in their early or late 30s are suffering from this same mess. Whenever I hang out with friends and they talk about getting married to beautiful actresses, most of the guys will say “never” and that is because they’ve met these actresses in private places and they see all the nonsense they do with big men because of money.”

 ETCETERA

“It is so appalling how some Nigerian men in the entertainment (industry) are becoming enslaved to women because of money. How can a man be so emasculated? Where is our pride?” “Each time an entertainer boards a flight to Abuja, you begin to wonder if he’s going for a public event or a private one. Our male celebrities are unashamedly becoming intimacy gadgets and pleasure gadgets to female senators and Alhajas. What’s happening to Nigeria men?” “It is so appalling to hear talks of how a former Senator has so many male celebrities on rotation for her weekly pleasures. Even the supposedly gospel musicians are at the fore front of this ridicule… Also, a man knows that his wife is sleeping with politicians and other societal big wigs for money and he closes his eyes to all the insults. What’s going on?” he queried.

 JOHN OKAFOR -MR IBU

He said: “One came toasting me o! That is true, as funny as it would sound. Something is happening in this Nollywood. These upcoming actors are being used by some of the established producers who are gays. If you want to get a job as an up and coming actor, you must sleep with them. You must be sexed to get a job. We are no longer in the era of the female actresses suffering from intimate harassment; it is now man to man.” “Abomination! God has a lot of things to judge. Man to woman is also bad, but we can easily overlook that. Why not put your joystick in the right place. There is something spiritual in that thing (frowns). Why would you bend down for one to penetrate you, thereby destroying your future? You left God and bowed to devil…by the time you get up, you get up as a woman, while the that penetrated you walks away majestically! Their payback is sudden death, and it keeps happening,” “Homosexuality is very rampant in our industry and it is one thing that aggravates my anger many at times,” he reveals.

 MCSMITH OCHENDO

“These illiterates turned actors have brought Nollywood to disrepute. Man sleeps with his fellow man. Woman sleeps with her fellow woman. We don’t have respect for God. Nobody goes to church on Sundays. We behave as we created ourselves. Voodoo on the increase, no love amongst members. You only see your colleagues when one of us dies. Tell me, why won’t God be angry? The land is desecrated.Only the saints can consecrate this land. Let’s seek the face of the almighty. Homosexuality and lesbianism are not our culture. These things are foreign. I don’t care whose ox is gored. I will continue to call a spade by its name. The truth must be told. Let us refrain or better still abstain from immorality.”

 BIOLA IGE

When I was sick, there were a lot of stories flying here and there that Tonto Dike was responsible for my sickness. But l didn’t believe it because we were not even friends before I fell sick. And why would Tonto Dike want to harm me when she has made a name for herself?

 TONTO DIKEH

“That’s not the reason I didn’t attend her wedding, it’s surprising, why people think you just have to be everybody’s friend. In the industry,I don’t know half of the producers and I work for them, I don’t even know half of my colleagues but I work with them, I kiss and hug them on set professionally. We flow,we enjoy the friendship on set based on the energy and connection that exists between myself and the next person on set but that does not mean we are friends in the real sense of it. You can’t just be a friend to everybody, it’s a normal thing. Mercy Johnson and Van Vicker are not just my friends.” Tonto’s response on why she didn’t attend Mercy Johnson’s wedding then. * “@TONTOLET:Wen n if I give birth,God plz provide me wit a husband dat can provide 4uz,Not 1 dat wld send mii bck to actin 2monthz after I born 2Huzzle”– Tonto’s alleged sarcastic tweet to Mercy Johnson.

 MERCY JOHNSON

“What’s wrong when you keep quiet till you know what’sup? No petition, no complain, just fees. Those who can’t afford Heineken should stick to ‘Kain kain”. Mercy to marketers that threatened to ban her for being to expensive.

 FOLUKE DARAMOLA

“It’s not something I want to discuss, because my husband has told me sternly not to discuss his former marriage on the pages of newspapers. He’s capable of marrying more than one wife if he so wishes, so, I don’t see how or why he has to chase his wife out for me.”

 WIZKID

“Broke people always think they have an opinion.” Wizkid to a zealous fan that corrected his bad grammar.

LOLA ALAO

“Let me explain something to you; where are the single guys? They are there and not ready to marry. If the single guys are not ready then the next available option should be taken. I believe one should go for whatever makes one happy. If a married man is the one that will make you happy, please go for it. I know married women would be angry with me but it is the truth of the matter”.
