Ministers who Passed Senate Screening: What They Will Do To Deliver CHANGE
For over five hours on Monday, 10 would-be ministers took turns before the Senate, answering questions on their plans for the country. They were the first set of ministerial nominees to be screened.
Led into the chamber by Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang. Senator Udoma Udo Udoma took his turn first.

According to Daily Independent, Ofonime, a JSS1 student of Southern Annang Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Okono, Oruk Anam LGA who moved into Etukodoh's house as a maid, was subjected to repeated rape and molestation after Pa Etukudoh used a knife to threaten her the first time.

Breast Cancer Survivor Releases Powerful Topless Photos!
39 year old, Alison Hawkes is a brave Cancer survivor, who decided to bare it all in a bid to show women everywhere that scars are nothing to be ashamed of. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago. After six rounds of chemotherapy, she took the decision to have both breasts removed to try and prevent the vicious disease returning. Trailer falls off bridge, kills three in Lagos
No fewer than three people were killed on Wednesday after a container on a 40-feet trailer fell off the Ojuelegba Bridge onto the road below.
PUNCH Metro report that the container, which was not latched to the trailer, crushed two private vehicles which were in motion.
The vehicles, a white Toyota and a black jeep, were reportedly mangled under the weight of the container.
A crowd of residents and motorists was said to have converged on the scene as there was apprehension on the number of casualties involved in the incident.
The situation was said to have caused traffic snarl in the area as traffic officials had a tough time controlling the number of people trooping the scene and redirecting the traffic.
The driver of the trailer reportedly attempted to escape the scene.
He was, however, apprehended by the angry mob.More pics after the cut:

The police in neighbouring Niger Republic have arrested a Nigerian carrying 4.6m Euros (N1.05bn) in cash. The man was arrested at the Diori Hamani Airport in Niamey, the capital of Niger, en route Dubai in the United Arab Emirate.
The Nigerien police said they suspected that the man was fleeing with the money in order to avoid being caught by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, who has been prosecuting an anti-corruption campaign since assumption of office on May 29.
They also expressed worry that there had been an upsurge in the number of Nigerians trafficking huge sums of money in cash through the neighbouring country.
The police in Niger are already working on the suspicion that the money traffickers have accomplices in the country.

Man cuts off his p*nis in Kebbi
A 67-year-old man, Usmanu Umaru, in an attempt to take his own life, has used a sharp knife to cut his p*nis while alone in his room. The victim’s nephew who spoke on condition of anonymity said that his uncle inflicted the cut on himself. According to the victim's nephew, Umaru was met in his room in his pool of blood, holding a knife, before he was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre to save his life.

Dangote insists on buying Arsenal
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has said he is still working towards buying Arsenal Football Club, despite the fact that his bid to acquire a stake in the club was rebuffed by the owners in 2010.
In an interview with Bloomberg, while on a journey from Addis Ababa to Lagos last Friday, Dangote expressed hope that his new strategy would enable him buy the north London club at a price the owners won’t want to resist.
He said, “I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team. I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist. I know my strategy,” Dangote, a known fan of the north London club, said.
Dangote is rated to be worth $15.7bn, and has interests in cement, sugar and flour. He is currently investing $11bn in a 650,000 barrel-a-day oil refinery in Ondo State, and $2.5bn in gas pipelines running from the Niger-Delta area to Lagos.
He is positive that his new bid for the control of Arsenal will likely come in a few years after he is done with current investments and have taken his business to a certain level.
“We have $16 billion-worth of investments in the next few years. Right now I want to take my own business to a certain level. Once I finish on that trajectory, then maybe, (an offer will follow),” he said.
40 migrants feared dead in latest Mediterranean accident
A rubber boat crowded with migrants deflated and foundered in the Mediterranean, and as many as 40 people apparently drowned before an approaching merchant ship could get to them, witnesses told the humanitarian group Save the Children on Tuesday, The New York Times reports.
Counting the latest shipwreck, the death toll for migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe this year is now more than 1,800. Even so, the number of people attempting the crossing on smuggler boats is rising sharply. The Italian authorities reported that nearly 6,000 people were rescued in the Mediterranean in a 48-hour period over the weekend, including a woman who gave birth to a baby girl on an Italian naval vessel.
