A housewife identified as Iya Deborah, last Thursday morning reportedly threw a bowl of hot water on her husband, identified as Ajagadi at the Gbagidi, Ijanikin area of Lagos State, .
It was reported that Iya Deborah was upset after her husband had given her N700, out of the N800 he had, in order for her to prepare yam and stew breakfast for the family. The publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, has released photos of cancer-stricken Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in the inaugural issue of a brand new tabloid titled Boss magazine.
Last week, Mr. Momodu devoted his weekly column in Thisday newspaper to relating his experience meeting with the seriously sick former minister for an interview in the UK. The column engendered significant controversy on social media, with many readers accusing the columnist cum celebrity publisher of helping to launder Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s image. Some of the column’s critics felt that Mr. Momodu’s brief was to garner public sympathy for the embattled ex-minister, who is the focus of money laundering investigations in the UK as well as Nigeria.
Motorists groan as fuel crisis lingers nationwide
Motorists faced hard times as the fuel crisis situation continued across the country over the weekend with long queues witnessed in almost all the petrol stations selling the products.

Grandmother rescued from collapsed building dies
The 82-year-old woman, Alhaja Mistura Ahmodu, who was rescued from a three-storey building that collapsed on Swamp Street, Lagos Island, on Wednesday, is dead.
Her granddaughter, Shukura Ishola, told PUNCH Metro on Thursday she died around 5pm on Wednesday at the Lagos Island General Hospital, alleging that medical personnel at the hospital did not attend to her immediately they got there.
Ahmodu had been placed on oxygen and rushed to the hospital after she was rescued from the rubble on the fateful day around 2pm which was five hours after the building had collapsed.
Shukura said: “The doctors in that hospital did not take care of her on time. We were told to buy some drugs and they abandoned her. My brother and I went to get the drugs. When we came back with the drugs around 3.30pm, grandma was still alive.”
Shukura's father also said:
“She spoke with us around 4pm. She said she was thirsty and a doctor told us to buy a bottle of drink, which she drank. We were preparing an X-ray on her thigh when everything changed. She died at about 5pm. She was well taken care of at the hospital. She was 82.”
May her soul rest in Peace.

A sting operation led by the police together with the mounted unit and K9 unit resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old Nigerian man on Wednesday, October 21st. According to Capt. Ntobeng Phalal, the police followed up a tip-off and raided a house in Jorissen Street where they arrested the man and confiscated several stolen items and drugs.
"The items confiscated during the operation include: rock and CAT to the estimated value of R18 000, few dagga plants, cash, 8 cell phones, printers and a laptop," Provincial police spokesperson Col Ronel Otto said.
