Another bomb blast this night rocked the city of Jos, capital of Plateau State in Nigeria’s Middle Belt. It was the third bomb explosion in the formerly quiescent city in less than a week. A security agent and two Jos residents told SaharaReporters over the phone that today’s blast occurred around 9 p.m. Nigerian time around a center where people had gathered to watch a soccer match.

An elderly woman escaped lynching on Wednesday after being accused of being a bird and witch in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

According to residents of Ojo Road, where the purported transformation took place, the woman was a black bird before suddenly turning into a human being.

Hundreds of residents were said to have gathered around the woman to lynch her.

An eyewitness, Chike, said he was sitting in front of a compound with his girlfriend when they saw three black birds flying.

Maiduguri—No fewer than 48 people were killed by insurgent group, Boko Haram, in Shawa and Alagarno villages of Askira Cuba and Damboa local government areas of Borno State, respectively.
The attackers also carted away food items after setting ablaze almost all houses in the villages.

Shawa is about three kilometres south of Kwapchi village which came under attack in the last two weeks, where 12 people were killed with several residential houses set ablaze, while Alagarno village is about 30 kilometres to Chibok town, where about 275 female students of Government Secondary School were abducted by the insurgents and about 117 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

A local resident, Mallam Umaru Saina, who spoke with our correspondent on phone, said about 30 terrorists on 10 motorcycles stormed Alagarno village yesterday at 1:30a.m. and had a field day before they left.
He said: “A young woman in Alagarno village was missing during the attack, but nobody knows whether the woman was taken away by the insurgents who destroyed everything we had and burnt down our remaining food.
“The most painful thing is that, they did not spare children. They killed children, women, and men.”

JOS—The University of Jos was, yesterday, thrown into mourning when news hit the campus that a yet to be ascertained number of students, including seven 500 level medical students died in the bomb blasts on Tuesday. Meantime, both the university authorities and the Police could not confirm the news at press time last night.

The death toll of the bomb blast at the Terminus Market in Jos, Plateau state earlier today has hit 118 according to reports from the Agence France-Presse.

Plateau state police commissioner Chris Olakpe had earlier told reporters that 45 others were injured in the twin blasts.

According to the military, two bombs were concealed inside a truck and a minibus.

“The first IED (improvised explosive device) was in a truck. The second was in a minibus,” according to Kingsley Egbo of the military State Task Force (STF) in Plateau.

“The market was really crowded,” he added. “We are having a problem of crowd control… The emergency services have evacuated the casualties,” he told the AFP news agency immediately after the second blast occurred.

The Kardashian family have been pictured out and about in Paris ahead of Kim's impending nuptials to rapper Kanye West and now baby North is joining in on the fun.

The adorable 11-month-old tot looked a little tired as she was carried across the street by her doting mother on Tuesday - and the resemblance between the two was plain to see.

Kim, 33, stepped out in a black lycra mini teamed with a camel coloured shell top which flattered her curves.

Several reports state that two(2) bomb blasts have gone off at a GSM market around Ahmadu Bello Way, in Jos, Plateau State. The first explosion is said to have gone off at 2.30pm,with fewer casualties. The second bomb blast however, recorded a higher number of casualties,as the explosion went off barely thirty (30) minutes later,when bystanders had rushed in to save those injured in the previous explosion.

Men of the Fire Service, NEMA and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps are currently at the scene helping with rescue efforts.

Details are still sketchy at the moment and the number of casualties are unknown…

THIS IS SAD: How Boko Haram Rapéd 2 of the Girls Mercilessly

This is a very touching story, which goes to show how our girls are suffering: 15 year old Baba Goni, a young lad from Borno was abducted and held hostage by the Boko Haram sect at the Sambisa forest for two years before he escaped from their captivity.

While he was escaping, he came across two teenage girls believed to be among the over 200 girls abducted by the dreaded sect from a boarding school in Chibok, Borno State, more than a month ago.

Giving graphic details of what happened to them, Goni said the girls had been beaten, rapéd and left to die tied to a tree with their school uniform ripped...
