#BringBackOurGirls: Names of over 200 kidnapped girls being compiled

There are reports that the office of the first lady, Patience Jonathan has requested for the identities of the schoolgirls abducted in Chibok on April 14.

Sources who spoke to YNaija from Borno say the first lady’s office yesterday directed community leaders in the area to make available the names of abducted schoolgirls.

Stakeholders are, however, of the opinion that such gesture is unnecessary as it would not bring back the 234 Government Girls’ Secondary School students who are still in the custody of men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect.

Today is Zion Idibia’s 6th birthday. Step-mom, Annie Idibia, took to instgram to celebrate him. Zion is one of the boys Sunmbo Ajaba has for 2face. She also shared other photos of the Idibia children.

It is indeed pertinent to ask if Goodluck Jonathan, the armed forces over which he presides as Commander-in-Chief, and other security agencies, will go after the terrorists that abducted more than 200 teenage girls into their hideout in Sambisa Forest, in Borno State.

That question can be posed in another way: Can President Goodluck Jonathan go into Sambisa Forest? The point is that the question of willingness is closely allied to that of capability. But before one goes on to look at the issue of capability, it is important first to settle that of willingness because that is at the very heart of President Jonathan’s administration’s strategy towards prosecuting our own battle against terror.

Popular Nollywood producer, Amaka Igwe has passed on. The very sad incident occurred yesterday in Enugu where she had gone, in company of her husband, Charles Igwe, for pre-production preparations for a new soap opera. Amaka suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital but she passed on even before getting to the hospital. Amaka was a seasoned writer, producer, director, entrepreneur and teacher.

Ini Edo Celebrated Birthday With Boat Cruise and Beach Party

Nollywood star, Ini Edo, was on location in Enugu, when she turned 32 last Wednesday (April 23). A small birthday celebration was held for her on set, but it was almost certain that when she returned to Lagos, there would be a proper birthday celebration. On Sunday, the actress and some of her friends went on a boat cruise, and had a party at a private beach in Lagos. The continued detention of 234 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents earlier this month has solicited concern from various quarters around the country and even the world.

Just days after the US and the UK joined the search for the girls, some women have begun plans to march on the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja in protest.

The protest is billed to hold on Wednesday, April 30 and all the participating women will be decked in red clothing.

A 32-year-old man, Anthony Wayas has been arrested Rivers State Police Command for allegedly having sex with his 12-year-old niece since 2013.

The girl (name withheld) has been living with her uncle Wayas and his wife in Finima community in Bonny Local Government Area since the death of her father while she still a baby.

Recounting her ordeal, the girl said her uncle started abusing her sexually in 2013. He would leave for work in the morning and come back during the day while his wife is away at her work place where she's a cleaner.

A Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor named Daryell Dickson Meneses Xavier was reportedly beaten and raped by 20 men after he was locked up for allegedly killing and possibly raping his girlfriend's 1year 11 months old son (pictured with him left) in Taguatinga, suburb of Brasilia, Brazil in Sept 2013.

According to local media, trouble started for the man after his girlfriend left him alone with her son. A few hours later, he called his girlfriend claiming the boy fell and was having seizures. The child was rushed to the hospital and died two days later. Doctors who didn't believe the boy fell called the police and told them they suspected foul play because the injuries on the boy wasn't consistent with a fall but with blunt trauma, and also said possible sexual abuse was involved.
Doctors concluded there was blunt trauma and that the child also had a fissure in the anus. Fissure could come from sexual abuse or constipation but the boy's mum said he didn't have constipation.

Daryell was immediately arrested and charged with abusing and killing the boy, an accusation he vehemently denied. Then he went to prison and other prisoners who had heard what he did, came for him. (See the anus area in the right pic above?) Continue...

Mulitple accident cause terrible traffic on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway

Vehicular lockjam is currently being experienced on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway particularly at the Shagamu axis. This was caused by a multiple accident that occured today involving a commercial bus, petroleum tanker and a trailer.

Security operatives in Benin City have arrested a suspected ritual killer who disguised as a madman. The ritualist was caught at the Upper Sokponba road area of the capital city of Edo state with gun, different human parts and 4 million naira cash. It was reliably gathered that the man had lived in a make-shift apartment for close to two years, pretending to be a madman. One of the homeowners in the area identified as Pa Onaiwu said the suspected ritualists was in the habit of behaving funny in the dark. “This man sometimes behaves funny. In the afternoon, you will see him bathing naked, behaving like a real madman. “What really disturbed us are the dead bodies found around almost the same area. The most serious issues is that if a dead body is that of a woman, the head, the breasts and the private part would have been removed. Same also goes for a male dead body. “The last person that died around the area was a woman whose head, breasts and private part was cut off. Nobody will ever believe that the man is not a madman, the way he behaves, not knowing that he is responsible for all the killings in that area.” He suggested that someone might have seen the suspect dumping the headless body on the express road and informed the security operatives.

As Troops Intensify Sambisa Forest Search, Boko Haram Changes Location Of Abducted Girls

As the Nigerian military begins a massive combing of the dreaded Sambisa Forest in a bid to rescue about 191 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, abducted 13 days ago, it has been disclosed that the Boko Haram gunmen have also changed tactic in a bid to avoid detection.

It was learnt that the heavy deployment of troops around the forest has also made the insurgents continuously change location with the abducted girls.

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, spoke tough as he vowed that no expense will be spared to ensure that members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, responsible for the wanton destruction of lives and property pay dearly for their atrocities.

The President, who spoke at the 4th annual presidential breakfast prayer held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, said: “No matter what government does, we cannot recover the dead, but our promise is that all those who took part in that will pay dearly for it.”

The Police in Ogun State have found the head of a two-year-old boy beheaded in Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode local government area of Ogun State.

It was reported last week Thursday of how a suspected ritualist identified as ?Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim, molested the mother of his victim in the bush where she had gone to urinate, thereafter cutting off the head of her baby she strapped to her back. Ibrahim who escaped the scene immediately after committing the horrible crime was later arrested by detectives attached to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta where he confessed to the crime claiming he had sold the head of the boy to a woman in Ibadan.? The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the discovery of the baby’s head in a statement said the severed head of the boy was recovered in Ibadan.
