She is known for her provocative videos and erotic performances, but Rihanna clearly can't help being a pin-up - even on her days off.

The chart-topping star stunned sport fans on Friday when she attended a basketball game in New York wearing a semi-sheer vest without a bra.

Unsurprisingly, the decision turned heads - literally - as she sat front-row of the Brooklyn Nets Game, courting attention from both male and female onlookers. 

Wearing a pair of skinny stonewash jeans, the Umbrella singer looked simply stylish as she matched the look with strappy shoes and a cascade of loose, free-falling curls.

She also added a touch of 'bling' with some dramatic statement jewellery, but few people were looking at her outfit as she courted serious attention by moving animatedly.

At one point, as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 102-98 in the city's Barclays Center, she can be seen raising her arm, which seems to exaggerate the sheerness of her top.

Clearly enjoying herself, she was joined by two friends and enjoyed an ice-filled drink to keep her cool.Thankfully, she had a coat which allowed her to protect her modesty, but she also sported another interesting accessory: a purse in the shape of a $1000 bill.

The kitschy cash clutch - which costs $48 - featured the face of designer Patricia Field, who has a boutique on Bowery in the East Village.

The flame-haired 73-year-old is best known for costuming HBO's Sex and the City and the 2006 flick The Devil Wears Prada.

Not seen Friday was Rihanna's on/off boyfriend Drake - last seen dining at Madeo Restaurant in West Hollywood a week ago.

The hip-hop power pair haven't been photographed together since embracing at the April 9 Los Angeles Clippers game at the Staples Center.
