Her name might not be the first that springs to mind when considering the champions of LGBT equality, but Sam Faiers was amongst the first to arrive at the second annual Out in the City and g3 Awards on Friday evening.
The 23-year-old reality star caught the eye as she sashayed into London’s Landmark Hotel – but it wasn’t recognition for her long-running appearances on TOWIE that raised eyebrows on the night.
Indeed, braless Sam sported a striking black jumpsuit with a deep, plunging neckline that generously afforded onlookers a clear view of side boob as she paused for a brief photo-call shortly after arriving.
While its neckline proved to be a focal point, Sam’s striking ensemble was all the more distinctive by virtue of its pinched shoulder-pads – admittedly a throwback to questionable ‘80s couture – but it was a given a modern twist in the form of tunic style collars and buttons.
The TOWIE star added to a rather bold look with a pair of snappy gold heels, while the leather handbag casually hanging from her right shoulder rounded things off with neutral aplomb.
Accessories were tasteful and limited, with Sam opting for a thin neck chain as her only accoutrement on the night.
The Brentwood boutique owner had travelled into London from her native Essex for the outg3awards at the swish Marylebone address.
Sponsored by RBS, the annual event was launched in 2013 as a celebration of companies and individuals responsible for making a positive impact in the realm of LGBT equality.
Readers of gay magazine Out In The City will vote for their winners in categories including LGBT Diversity Champion of the Year, Brand of the Year, Best Event of the Year and Inspirational Role Model of the Year.
Elsewhere Boy George, Derren Brown, Sir Elton John, Sir Ian McKellan, Ollie Locke, Russell Tovey, Paul O’Grady and Will Young battle it out I nthe category for Best Celebrity.
The event will be co-hosted by Coronation Street star Charlie Condou and actress Sophie Ward.
