President Jonathan condemn attacks on churches near Chibok...

Find the State House press release below..
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has received with dismay and consternation reports of yesterday’s attacks by Boko Haram on churches in  villages near Chibok, Borno State.

The President deplores the renewed targeting by Boko Haram of adherents of a particular religion and urges all lovers of peace and unity to wholly condemn the resurgence of efforts by agents of global terrorism to disunite and destabilize Nigeria by callously instigating violence among religious groups in the country.

...and Nigeria did not advance to the quarter-final stageFrance just beat Nigeria 2-0 to advance to the quarter-final stage

France just beat Nigeria 2-0 to advance to the quarter-final stage of the 2014 World Cup! France played well, and many feel they deserved the win...but our Super Eagles did well too! Especially, goal keeper Vincent Enyeama. He's been our saviour in this tournament. Thank you!

What did you think of the match? And the own goal by Nigerian captain, Joseph Yobo? I think he played well. I also think Enyeama deserves African Footballer of the Year 2014. What do you think?

SEE What We Are Doing To Christianity Today

Are we Practising Christianity Right In Nigeria? by Ayodeji Alonge
Before you criticize me. I am not a pagan. I believe God exist and he is Real. I believe in the birth and death of Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Died for our sins. I also believe in Miracles. But are we portraying him the right way. I keep on thinking are we practising Christianity the write way. We keep on asking God to destroy demons, Keep on telling them to suffer, burn and die. We keep on casting them. But I believe we should ask God to touch their hearts and help them and convert them to do good and do away with their evil deeds.

2015: APC Governors Finally Move to Grassroots to Defeat PDP

The defeat of the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Ayodele Fayose, has caused fears and jitters in most states governed by the All Progressives Congress, Punch investigations have revealed.

The governorship election, held in Ekiti State on Saturday, June 21, saw Fayose polling a total of 203,090 votes to emerge the winner of the contest while Fayemi of the APC and another major contestant, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, of the Labour Party, polled a total of 120,433 and 18,135 votes, respectively.

Our correspondents sampled the mood in the APC states of Osun, Rivers, Borno, Lagos and Oyo. They also checked the pulse in Ogun, Kwara and Edo states.
It appears APC has discovered the probllem: "Overconfidence was at the fore, based on performance, and there was no relationship with the voting population. Of course, you know that Nigeria is not yet attuned to the politics of development. People are eager for what will go into their stomach; the issue of stomach infrastructure was not addressed.”

GEJ to go watch Super Eagles in Brazil if they make it to quarter-final

President Jonathan has promised to travel to Brazil to watch the Super Eagles live if they make it to the quarter-final stage of the 2014 World Cup. Nigeria will play France in the Round of 16 tomorrow Monday June 30th (5pm Nigerian time) and if they beat France, GEJ and some members of his govt will travel to Brazil to watch their next match.

This was revealed by Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, who said the additional incentive from the president has motivated the players to beat France at all cost. Nigeria has never reached the quarter-final stage of any World Cup
"He assured us when he called that he's behind us and if we beat France and qualify for the quarter-final, he will come and visit us and watch the next game. That's a very big motivation for us to know that the president will come and visit us. It's better than money and we are determined to go there and fight and give our best. It's a morale booster." This Femi Otedola’s Daughter Sef

It will not be foolhardy to say that Ife Otedola, a.k.a, DJ Cuppy, is one of the most popular disc jockeys in the country. While many have attributed the quick rise to fame to her dexterity on the turntable, others have simply attributed her fast rise to her pedigree. She carries herself well, no matter the occasion.

Notwithstanding, she is well-loved within and outside the industry and has a cult-like followership. A silver spoon kid, she takes delight in travelling to exotic vacation spots. Currently vacationing in the Bahamas, she sure knows how to enjoy her father's money and has been putting up lovely pix on the social media...

Read The Verdict of THE ECONOMIST on The Ekiti Election

Politics in Nigeria: Why reform is so hard - June 25th 2014 via The Economist
Onr of Nigeria’s most reform-minded and articulate governors has been ousted in an election in Ekiti, a South-Western state, by a populist who was once impeached following charges, albeit unproven, of embezzling public money. The vote was deemed generally free and fair. The result highlights public resistance to political reform.

The incumbent governor, Kayode Fayemi, a member of the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria’s main opposition, was trounced by Ayo Fayose of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the party that rules Nigeria at the federal level and is backed by the president, Goodluck Jonathan. It was a big win for the government, which hitherto controlled none of Nigeria’s six south-western states and has been struggling with internal divisions; several PDP governors have defected to the opposition. By gaining a gubernatorial foothold in Ekiti the PDP’s chance of victory in next year’s presidential election looks brighter.

In dismissing a forward-thinker, the voters sent out a loud message.

Why Is The Presidency Threatening Governor Amaechi's Life?

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, has strongly condemned the reported threat to the life of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, by Federal Government agents. The party in a statement by the state Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, described the development as evil, horrendous, unjustifiable and provocative.
“We have noted the alarm raised by the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Service Matters, Hon. Andrew Uchendu that the life of the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has come under threat from the Federal Government and its agents. We condemn this reprehensible plot on the life of an innocent man whose only offence is that he is fighting for the rights of the people who elected him their Governor. Rt. Hon. Amaechi has not committed any crime deserving of death and we wish to warn that no such harm must come to him.”

Ekiti People: Your Future For A Bag Of Rice

Before you read this, I want to let you know that Ayo Fayose's wife already saw a revelation that her husband is re-elected as Governor of Ekiti State and I, Olu Famous, knows that in Ekiti such things are real.

Written by Perry Brimah
So you sold your future for a bag of rice. You voted in a candidate, because of a 20lbs bag of grain.

You mortgaged the next four years, once again for 50 cups of rice. You re-established your lack of opportunity and lack of employment for life, for that sack. You signed-off to it that your nation will not have power, water, security and the simplest things almost all nations have, because you were going home that day with some mudu's of Oryza Sativa.

You gave victory to...

EXCLUSIVE: The National Conference Hidden Agenda Exposed

102-Page Fake TERMS OF AGREEMENT RECOMMENDS:
  • 50% Derivation for Oil Producing States
  • Creation of Additional 13 States
  • Rotational Presidency and Governorship
  • No Federal Allocation to Local Government Councils
  • Authors Entice Delegates with Huge Bribe-Money and New States
The National Conference, headed by a retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Kutigi has until July 17, 2014 to complete its assignment and submit its report to the Federal Government. However, a fake 102 document entitled, “The National Conference 2014: Terms of Agreement of the Six Geo-Political Zones in Nigeria,” is being sold to delegates to the conference as the final resolution. An investigation by our reporter has also revealed that, along this stream of thought, a top member of the confab has made contacts with some delegates, asking them to support a move for him to draft a new Constitution for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
But the bombshell occurs in Section 18, under the sub-heading “Mining Royalties and Rents”. It said, “There shall be paid by the Federation to each Federating Unit a sum equal to 50 per cent of (a) all proceeds of any royalty received by the Federation in respect of any mineral extracted in that Federating Unit (b) any mining rents by the federation during that year from within that federating unit.”

Woman who Kidnaps A Young Boy In Lagos Is A Prayer Warrior

Rosemary Chukwu had become a sort of nuisance to her neighbours. Many times, they had complained about her praying habit. “She would shout and scream and make noise while praying. She makes everybody uncomfortable. That is what everybody knows about her here. This is why we are still in shock about what she did,” said one of her neighbours at 33, Omo Ologede area in Majidun, Lagos.

What Rosemary Chukwu is currently embroiled in is simply shocking for many who know her. The woman stole the 7-year-old child of her neighbour, Mrs. Gloria Emeka. In fact, when she was caught in the act, it was the timely intervention of security agents that saved her from being lynched.

Bread & Butter Celebrities and The Mess of Failed Marriages

I had thought the bashing Etcetera got from Freeze and others would make him stop, but he's not stopping:

If you listen to relationship programmes on radio, you would notice that many Nigerians are indeed struggling with their relationships and marriages and they are all seeking help. And because they do not have a glaring media attention serialising their issues, making judgments, giving strong commentary, poking them emotionally, there are chances of their relationships and marriages problems being solved.

Why is it that with the fame, fortune and good looks, our celebrities’ marriages still don’t work? It has been a strange phenomenon that the union of people in the limelight hardly lasts, indeed. So the question is, why do most celebrity marriages crash frequently?

Fame is dangerous to relationships for many reasons...

Super Eagles’ Coach Stephen Keshi was appointed the manager of the Nigerian senior football team in 2011. The former defender did the country proud when the team won the 2013 African Cup of Nations. He also led the national team to the ongoing Football World Cup in Brazil.

The gifts included cash, property and two cars. One of the cars Keshi received was a 2013 Range Rover. The Range Rover Supercharged is like buying two exceptional vehicles in one; a rugged off-road SUV and a luxury car. It costs about N15m. More to come if he makes it in the world cup!

Revealed: What Happened During and After the Ekiti Election

Communique issued at the end of the inaugural meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Thursday, June 26th 2014:
It is no longer news that the governorship election in Ekiti State has been won and lost, and that our candidate, Gov. Kayode Fayemi, has shown rare sportsmanship by conceding defeat and congratulating the winner, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.

We are very proud of Gov. Fayemi for his conduct and comportment before, during and after the election, and we hail him as a true democrat in the true spirit of the APC's belief that election is never a do or die affair, and that Nigerians must always be free to elect those to govern them. After all, it is said that the just powers of governments are derived from the consent of the governed.

Gentlemen, election is a process, and whatever happens on the voting day is only an integral part of that process. What happens before, during and after the voting day complete the process.
If we view the just-concluded election in Ekiti as a process, then we can confidently say that while the events of the voting day itself may have led many to believe that the election was free and fair, the same cannot be said of the events before, during and after the election...
